Bond Issue 2015: Passed by 87% Thank you for your support!
Yarbrough Public School was constructed in 1950. Community members worked together to complete the gym floor in time for the Lobo’s first basketball season. Additions to the facility were built in the 60’s, 70’s, & 90’s. Bond issues approved in 2008 & 2011 helped meet transportation, housing, & building maintenance needs. These projects, as well as many others, have been made possible thanks to the generosity of our local residents & to the visionary leadership of the many different board members who have volunteered their time over the years. While the school building itself has been maintained & improved, it is important to note that other areas have been a focus of improvement as well. For example, our technology capacity has expanded to include interactive whiteboards, projectors, sound systems, printers, computer labs, tablets, a green screen/broadcast studio, video production/distribution equipment, 3D printing, & a take-home Chromebook program. Pair this technology with a robust, school-wide wifi network & the fastest internet speed of any school in the Panhandle, & it is easy to see that our students are well connected & equipped with the tools needed to succeed in a digital society! In addition to the cutting-edge technology, we offer a rigorous curriculum during normal school hours as well as supplemental after school & summer school programming. At the end of the day, when the dust settles, our success as a school comes down to our unique ability to care one-on-one. We are more than a group of teachers & students; we are a family. Each & every student is known, valued, & cared for by our faculty. When teachers are coming in early & staying late so that students might succeed, when support staff members are giving rides home so that students might be able to participate, when above & beyond are the normal operating procedures, you know that you belong to something special. When you take a group of great students, quality staff, visionary leadership, involved parents, & a supportive community, you get Yarbrough Public School.
