New Technology for 2013-2014
When teachers return for the 2013-2014 school year, they will find that their old SMART Boards and projectors will have been replaced with new, larger, multi-touch SMART Boards and high definition, wide-screen format projectors. In addition to the new interactive white boards and projectors, teachers will also have new laptop computers. At the end of last school year, students turned in their netbooks. When students in grades 1 through 12 return in August they will be issued new Samsung Google Chromebooks. For students in grades Pre-K and K, they will find a new 30 iPad cart system for their use. Finally, new and updated software programs and applications will be available. For example, SuccessMaker computer lab is moving from version 5 to 6. We are moving to Google Apps for Education which includes a host of new and exciting programs. Through our priority/reward grant, Aha!Math and Aha!Science will be accessible online. New SMART Board software will be installed for teacher use, and students will have the selection of a multitude of free educational applications in Google's Market Place for the Chromebooks or in Apple's App Store for the iPads. We are looking forward to another "High Tech" school year!
