Lobo PACK FAQ's

What is Lobo PACK?

Lobo PACK is an after school program funded by a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. The grant will fund the program for a period of 5 years.
 

How much was the grant award?

The grant amount is approximately $80,000 per year for year's one, two and three. Year four is funded at $65,000 with the funding for year five set at $50,000. The total grant is worth a little over $350,000 for the five year period.

 

Does the word PACK stand for anything?

Yes, it stands for Powerful and Confident Kids.

 

What are the times for Lobo PACK?

Lobo PACK will be held most days after school until 5:30pm. Parents and students will be notified in advance if PACK will not be held.
 

Will there be Lobo PACK on PowerUp! Early Release Wednesdays?

Yes, at this time, we are planning on having PACK on those days.

 

How do the students get home if they stay for Lobo PACK?

School transportation will be provided to take students home. Of course parents may pick up their children at anytime during Lobo PACK time.

 

What is the cost for Lobo PACK?

There is no charge for Lobo PACK. The program is being fully funded by the grant. We also have community partners that are providing various services to supplement Lobo PACK.

 

What ages can come to Lobo PACK?

Lobo PACK is open to all Yarbrough School students from Pre-K through 12th grade.

 

What do the students do in Lobo PACK?

Lobo PACK is an enrichment program. The students begin with snack/homework time in the cafeteria. The snack is free to all students who stay for Lobo PACK. It is provided by the school through the federal child nutrition program. After snack time, the students participate in various enrichment activities. Physical education is also a part of Lobo PACK time through different fitness activities. The students will also have arts and crafts projects. Technology activities, remediation and tutoring will have a place in Lobo PACK. The students will also enjoy field trips. Finally, FUN, FUN, FUN will be a big part of Lobo PACK.

 

Who works with the students during Lobo PACK?

Mrs. Roberts is the director of Lobo PACK. Along with Mrs. Roberts, certified teachers and paraprofessionals have been hired to work in the Lobo PACK program. In addition to the employees, from time to time, volunteers will also help with activities.

 

Are volunteers needed?

Yes, volunteers can always be used. Please let Mrs. Roberts know if you would like to volunteer for Lobo PACK.

 

How do I sign my child up for Lobo PACK?

Just give Mrs. Roberts a call. We would love to have your child!
